Partnerships and Policy for People and Planet
Hina West brings over two decades of experience spanning the NGO, public, and private sectors across multiple countries. Her work has consistently focused on connecting stakeholders and building partnerships that support real, sustainable impact, for both people and the planet. She is particularly passionate about fostering market-based solutions that are inclusive, equitable, and regenerative, with the goal of shifting us toward a climate-resilient and fairer economic system. One that recognises the failures of the current model, and the urgency of change for communities, ecosystems, and future generations.

Throughout her career, Hina has worked to scale high-impact initiatives that centre community voices while driving global systems change. As a former Green Party UK parliamentary candidate, she has long advocated for climate action, environmental justice, and a fairer future for all.

While at WWF, Hina enabled Nature Pays, a global Nature-based Solutions initiative that focused on creating market access opportunities for Indigenous Peoples and local, community-led enterprises within WWF’s conservation work around the world. She also held programmatic and partnership roles at Oxfam and the International Rescue Committee (IRC), including leading Oxfam’s Global WaSH Innovation Fund, supporting the most climate-vulnerable communities through targeted innovation and gap analysis.
Beyond programme design and partnership development, Hina has contributed to thought leadership in areas such as female leadership, climate justice, social and environmental impact, and inclusive economies. She has guest lectured at the Cambridge Institute for Sustainable Leadership, sharing insights from her work at the intersection of markets, community, and nature.
Her earlier work includes time with New Zealand’s Green Party in Parliament, focusing on social and environmental issues, communications work with the iconic MINI brand, and grassroots engagement raising awareness of HIV/AIDS with the British Red Cross — always bringing energy, empathy, and a deep commitment to positive change.
